ABOUT ME
Father, Independent Voice, and
advocate for every student, teacher
and classroom.

Jason Smithson is a Mesa dad, a small business owner, and a committed advocate for strong public schools. Jason is not a politician, but a parent with a front row seat to what's working in our schools and where we need to do better.
Jason's son is a 2nd grader in the Mesa Public School system and is on the autism spectrum. That experience has shaped his understanding of how vital it is for every child regardless of background, ability, or circumstance to be supported, seen, and set up for success. He knows firsthand what it means to navigate the system as a parent and wants to make sure every family in Mesa feels both heard and represented.
With a strong background in leadership and problem solving as a small business owner, Jason brings a no nonsense, common sense approach to the table. He believes in empowering teachers, keeping classrooms safe, and making sure the money is spent where it matters most; our students.
Jason is running for Mesa School Board because he believes great public schools are the backbone of strong communities and that the people making decisions should be directly invested in the outcome. For Jason it's personal. It's about his son. It's about your kids. It's about making sure Mesa Schools are a place where all students can thrive.
